Homemade Cashew Milk Matcha Banana Smoothie

Ingredients


For the Cashew Milk


  • 1 cup raw cashews

  • 3–4 cups water (plus more for soaking)

  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom (freshly ground in a mortar and pestle if possible)

  • ¼ tsp ground vanilla

  • 2–4 dates, pitted (adjust to sweetness preference)



For the Smoothie


  • 1–1½ cups homemade cashew milk

  • 1–2 tsp matcha powder (adjust for desired strength)

  • 2–3 frozen bananas



Instructions


1. Make the Cashew Milk


  1. Place cashews in a bowl, cover with water, and soak overnight.

  2. In the morning, drain and rinse cashews.

  3. Add cashews to a blender with 3–4 cups fresh water, cardamom, vanilla, and dates.

  4. Blend until completely smooth.

  5. Optional: Strain through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag for a silky texture.


    • Save the nut meal for baking—great for adding to breads, muffins, or pancakes.


2. Make the Smoothie


  1. Pour 1–1½ cups of your fresh cashew

    milk into a blender.

  2. Add matcha powder and frozen bananas.

  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  4. Pour into a glass, sip, and enjoy your green, creamy pick-me-up.
